Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. One creator, Hottategoya, became known for short, bite-sized escape room games. Let's look at a work of his - Escape from the Concrete Tower.
To play Escape from the Concrete Tower, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This game has no story, which is completely fine, as the game is incredibly short. The setting takes place in a concrete tower, but the only indication that it's different from other Hottategoya games is the fact that there are windows indicating that you're far above the ground.
Unfortunately, navigation is still a major problem. Clicking on the side of the screen to move to the screen to the right seems intuitive, but the fact that some rooms look practically identical to each other makes it incredibly difficult to form a mental map of what the game looks like. However, the actual puzzles are very intuitive and do a great job of teasing your brain.
All in all, Escape from the Concrete Tower is a great entry by Hottategoya and really shows off the creator's strength in escape room game design.
