Helltaker Guide

Helltaker is an incredibly short game, so it's easy for the typical player to experience everything quickly. However, some have trouble with puzzle games - that's fine, I had to work together with a friend to finish it fully. If you want to just see all the demon girls, look no further than this guide.

1. How to complete each puzzle.

Here are the moves you need to make to finish each puzzle.

Level 1:

Left, down, 6 left, 2 down, left, 2 down, 2 right, 2 up, 4 right, down, right

Level 2:

2 up, right, 4 up, 3 right, down, 2 right, 4 down, 2 left, down

Level 3:

5 left, 4 down, 2 left, up, down, 8 right, 6 up

Level 4:

3 down, right, 2 down, right, 2 up, right, 2 down, right, 2 up, 2 right, 2 down, 2 right, 2 up

Level 5:

4 down, 5 right, up, down, 3 up, left, up, 2 left, 2 up, 2 right

Level 6:

Left, down, 2 right, 2 down, 2 left, down, 2 left, 2 down,4 right, 2 up, 2 left,4 down, 3 right, 2 up, 4 right, 2 down, 2 left, down, 2 right

Level 7:

2 up, down, 2 left, 2 up, right, 3 down, 3 left, 4 up, 2 right, up, down, 4 right, 2 up, 2 right, 2 up

Level 8:

Level 9:

The Boss Fight:

At level 10, the game will throw a curveball at you and toss you directly into a boss fight. Here, you don't have to worry about the limited amount of moves, but you do have to worry about attacks constantly being thrown at you and dodging all of them.

You need to keep moving against the conveyor belt, otherwise, you will fall right into the teeth and die instantly. If you get hit by attacks, you'll lose one health. Your health is tracked in the bottom, and you have four before you die. Don't worry, though - if you die, you'll simply restart the current phase - a phase begins right after a dialogue with Judgement.

Each phase has in themselves two subphases. In the beginning, you need to just survive the chains until chains drop around the boundaries of the arena. You need to get to them and kick them until they break, while more chains try to damage you.

There isn't much to say about the first of these subphases, to be honest - they operate in a certain pattern, but unless you die, you'll only ever see it once. Do your best to remember the pattern just in case you die, but try not to.

The second subphase is when things get interesting. The chains that attack are also in a pattern there, and that knowledge will become more and more important as the phases go on as the incoming attacks can't be dodged on reaction. 

Don't worry, though. Each of these patterns usually has a safe spot where you can just hang out in and observe. Once you have a handle on when it's safe to attack the giant chains, go ahead and do so.

For the dialogue options, don't worry about them. You can pick either option and the girl will like it. If you follow these tips, you should finish the boss fight pretty smoothly.

The hidden achievements:

If you've been following this guide, then you're in a perfect spot to get all the hidden achievements. Following this guide's steps will have had you unlock all the special collectibles on stages 4 to 6. 

You'll notice that there is a sequence of arrows on the pause menu now. If you go to the last level - the epilogue - and go to the pentagram in the middle, you can input the direction of these arrows. If you do it correctly, a portal will open. Walking into it will unlock a hidden ending.

And that's that! It's rare that a single walkthrough can cover an entire game, but don't let that dissuade you from trying it!
