Hide 1.0

Hide is billed as a retro games for fans of Slender, but after playing for 20 minutes and nothing happening I have to say I was bored, I’m not sure if I missed something fundamental about the game as there was no clear instructions, I just varied between walking and running through the woods, discovered a house, a church, a cross type thing all of which I had hoped would bring some excitement and fear in to the game but it was not to be.

This is a retro game so you cannot expect much from the graphics which is a good thing because they will not pull up any trees (although you see plenty of pixelated trees), the sound quality is surprisingly good however as it’s just your character panting with exhaustion of running through the snow it starts to become a little weird after a while if listening on headphones, I don’t think I have ever needed or wanted to hear a man pant in my ear for that length of time.

Now I’m not going to be too fast to judge as I feel I may have missed something important to do with the gameplay here and by all means try the Hide free game for yourself and that it does have going for it, it is free so it’s always worth taking a peek, but this game does not instill the sense of fear that something like slender or anxiety does and that disappointed me as scary games are very enjoyable.
