Landflix Odyssey is a platform adventure game where you play as simple couch potato who traverses some different worlds all based on (but not using the real names of) Netflix TV shows such Going Mad (Breaking Bad), Peculiar Stuff (Stranger Things), Elder Thrones (Game of Thrones) and The Standing Zombie (The Walking Dead) however in this demo version only the first levels are available of Peculiar Stuff and Elder Thrones.
You play as regular guy who is thrust in to these worlds and you must jump from different platforms while avoiding enemy attacks and jumping on small enemies heads to stun them, it’s well made and looks good in a low poly kind of style but the difference between the two levels that are currently available are so minimal it can be hard to remember which of the games you are playing.
It’s a unique idea to create a platform based around not one but numerous popular television shows and hopefully with a bit more polishing and adding a bit more variety to the mix this could turn out to be a fun and interesting game but at the moment it feels a bit like just taking a regular platform game template and changing the backdrops to suit whichever TV series that one is so it can be a little bit lackluster and gets very repetitive very quickly.
That being said it’s definitely worth a look at especially if you’re a fan of any of those shows but we’re hoping for much greater things when the game is complete.
