Telltale Games popularized a particular genre of games with the release of The Walking Dead. Episodic choice-based games where your choices can affect the later episodes are now pretty popular for developers, as they can use the addictive cliffhangers at the end of each episode to drive sales. One of many who hopped on board this trend is Life is Strange.
To install Life is Strange, make sure you have Steam installed. Once you have it installed, go to this link to install it.
This story follows Max Caulfield, a girl who discovers that she has time travel powers one day. In the one episode you get to play for free, there's honestly not much happening. As the episode progresses, you help her discover more and more about her powers and it will culminate in a climactic choice. However, you generally won't see many choices having effects on any of the events in this episode.
Another thing this episode does is set up many of the important characters that will appear down the line. While some of these characters may seem like nothing more than just caricatures, they do grow depth down the line.
As for gameplay, there's not much to talk about. You walk around, interact with objects, choose what to say in a conversation, and so on and so forth. It's very similar to the Telltale styles of games.
Overall, however, Life is Strange is still a fantastic adventure game. You should definitely install it if you're a fan of the genre.
