In fantasy settings, humanity tends to be the race that's one of the most common and have no particularly special traits other than stubbornness. Yet somehow, they always come out on top in these fantasy settings despite there being plenty of other races that are superior in a variety of ways. What if it was played straighter, though? What if humanity was reduced to a minor race by all the other races? Max Massacre explores this concept.

This game is a visual novel where you follow the exploits of Max, a young man who tries to save everyone from certain doom. The world is incredibly unfriendly to humans and everybody will go extinct if nobody does anything. Max decides that he should be that one person, and decides to train so hard that he can become a powerful fighter and save everyone from the monsters.

Although this short game is pretty linear, there is one choice that will drastically affect the ending. That gives this game a little bit of replay value. This game thankfully has pretty strong writing that doesn't disappoint, and the story lasts long enough to explain most of the events by the end.

In terms of graphics, the artwork is extremely nice and shares the same style, even though the backgrounds can be lacking at times. Overall, Max Massacre is worth it if you want to just waste a couple of hours in an interesting world.
