Power Drive 2000 from developers One Sly Fox Games is still in its early beta stage so there are many problems that are yet to be addressed most heavily the steering which can be incredibly difficult to get used to and at this point makes it very hard to enjoy the game.
The scenery has a cool 80’s look to it kind of like a cross between Tron and Outrun with neon palm trees and tunnels lit by green neon lights and it plays a lot like the game Outrun if any of you are older enough to remember that game anyway.
In the credits it states the car will talk which is clearly a reference to the classic 80’s series Knight Rider and the car bears a slight resemblance to that from the series, there is a lot of 80’s influence in this game and that is never a bad thing but that game does need a lot of polishing before it can be properly enjoyed there is also no competitive mode as of yet so it’s just you trying to get a quick time and then beat it if you want to make the game in any way competitive.
With all its flaws at this point in its development Power Drive 2000 is not a particularly fun game but there is certainly potential here and we will curiously await further updates as the game progresses hopefully in to something more playable in the future.
You can download this early version of the game here for free.
