Red Eclipse is an online free to play first person shooter and for a free game it’s actually very very good, the controls feel natural, there is a vast array of weapons to choose from, (personally for me it’s all about the semi-automatic shotgun it’s a really hard weapon to use but is so satisfying when you “frag” someone!), there is a huge selection of battle arenas to play in and to my surprise the servers had plenty of life in them with lots of different games to be able to jump straight in to.
The FPS market has been over saturated for some time now but for a free game this really feels like stealing as it could hold its own against some of the top first person shooters out there, admittedly it might not have quite the depth or detail as Black Ops but as it costs absolutely nothing to play then it almost feels like stealing.
It is also possible to practice offline and play locally, so you can practice before you take your skills in to the multiplayer arena and make sure you don’t get absolutely destroyed in your first game, although it didn’t help me much!
Red Eclipse looks and plays great and is a lot of fun to play whether it is online or offline, you can download it here for free and start your destruction.
