Rise of Ages 0.4.0

Rise of Ages is described by the developers as a sandbox style game where you must become a leader of civilization however only having limited time to play it I played it as side scrolling beat ‘em up where I just ran around hitting people and animals with a club mostly which was quite a lot of fun to be fair to be there is a lot more to this game however with so much to do, create and build it can seem a bit daunting and the game would definitely benefit from some kind of tutorial at the start.

The graphics look really good for a game that is still in the pre-alpha phase and Rise of Ages certainly shows a lot of promise but it would be really helpful it was explained which materials are worth collecting and exactly what can be done with each of them, however with a bit of practice and trial and error you can work out how to make basic things but this is the type of game that you need to have a fair amount of time set aside for to really get in to and understand fully. For example killing animals such as bears and buffalo can provide you with a source of meat to help increase your health but the animals can be dangerous and you may lose more health in the act of trying to kill it, you can also use their skin as another material.

The game is clearly influenced by Minecraft but the style and visuals are very different and the overall gameplay experience is very unique.
