Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. There are creators on the internet that specialize in the genre. One of them is Neutral, who created Sphere.
To play Sphere, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
The first thing that will strike you is just how beautiful the graphics are. Keep in mind that this is from 2007, and the incredibly clean and polished 3D appearance will seem near surreal. The fact that the room is shown form multiple angles really sells the 3D look and gives it a feel that very few flash games can match.
Gameplay wise, it's very much business as usual in the escape the room genre. You have to navigate using the mouse and the arrows that appear on the sides of the room, search for items in every single corner of the room, store them in your inventory, combine them, then use them to get out of the room.
The clues range from vague to very helpful hints, so that your interest is held the whole way through. Sphere is a great first game from Neutral, who will only improve from here.
