Splitter Critters is a game made within seventy two hours for the Ludum Dare challenge 35, and for a game made in such a short space of time it looks great and is a lot of fun, the idea is to get the critters mentioned in the title back to their spaceships to take them home, the unique feature here is that you have to split the landscape and move it around so that you transport the area of the screen the critters are to their spaceship or you bring the spaceship to them, you may find you need to make a lot of splits across the screen to be able to get the critters and their spaceships united, also you are very likely to make mistakes and have to start again luckily all you need to do to undo splits you have already made is to left click and you will easily and quickly undo any decisions you have already taken.
The game is certainly not easy as your progress and you need to have a lot of patience, but for a game made so fast it looks highly polished and is reminiscent of games such as Lemmings and if you are in to solving puzzles then this will certainly be a game of interest to you.
It can become a little frustrating at times when you are stuck on one level for example and there are more elements thrown in to make it more difficult as you go along such as the “ruffians” who will kill the critters if you allow them to get near enough to them.
