Strategy games have been around for decades now. The mechanics have constantly changed over the years, with more and more people attempting to revitalize and revolutionize the genre. The concept of an MMORTS is one of those twists on the genre, and a ton of attempts have been made to streamline this genre. One of the many attempts is Starborne.
To install Starborne, simply run the installer and you're good to go.
This game has you build a galactic empire starting from a single space station. You will then slowly build fleets, modifications, outposts, and more stations in real-time so you can gradually dominate your section of the galaxy and aim for the galaxy. There are a ton of victory conditions, which is definitely unique as far as MMORTSes go. You can win through military strength, industry, and political maneuvering, which means you can choose how you want to win the game.
There are a ton of different spaceships you can build for your fleet, including Corvette, Destroyers, Carriers, Scouts, Recon, Industrial ships, and Troop Carrier. You can also form alliances with other players, ranging from friendships to alliances, to rivalries. You also have to choose from hundreds of cards that can be assigned to stations, outpost, and fleets to improve their efficiency, firepower, cargo space, and more.
All in all, Starborne is a good online strategy game, with a lot more emphasis on the social aspects of online games. If that sounds up your alley, then you should definitely give it a download.
