The Barbershop is a weird game and when starting being confronted by a hairy man’s face taking up the whole of your screen may put you off before you even get started but then you are given an electric razor to do your work and make some money, for each beard you trim you will earn cash that can then be spent on better tools for keeping the facial fluff in shape.
To be fair to The Barbershop it actually looks great, the interior of the barbershop is really nicely designed and a pleasure to look at also the 1930’s style music is clear and crisp.
Those were the positives but there is one huge negative and it’s the calibration and sensitivity when trying to control the razor with the mouse, it can take an awful long time just to get it to your customers face and even then you have to try to maneuver it in just the right way to try to smoothly shave the beard and it can seem almost impossible and therefore making the game not at all enjoyable which is a shame as the game looks so great.
There is also no option to view the controls in any of the game menus which could have been especially if it was along with the ability to recalibrate your mouse.
The problem with the lack of sensitivity while moving the mouse is it can seem like a chore even to try to shave a tiny bit of the beard and the longer it takes you the less desire you have to play it.
The Barbershop is project still in beta and with some tweaks could be a lot of fun if you can manage to control it!
