Death Stranding is one of the strangest games released in recent times. It's an AAA game that effectively plays like a walking simulator that's stretched out to 60 hours, but with a large amount of mechanics added to the walking to make it actual gameplay. That, coupled with Hideo Kojima's famously long winded and deep narratives has brought a lot of eyes on it, to the point where multiple parodies of the game have been made. One of them is Walking Simulator.
Do note that to play Walking Simulator, you need to have Steam installed. Once you've done that, then go to this link to install the game.
Once you boot it up, you'll notice that pretty much all its aesthetics are inspired by Death Stranding's art style. The main character is kitted out much like Sam and even has a ridiculous amount of packages on his back. The main gameplay loop is to complete delivery missions to earn "likes", another reference to the Death Stranding mechanic, and use those likes to buy some upgrades to optimize your delivery abilities. This can range from buying motorbikes or just being able to run faster.
Honestly, as it's mostly a parody game, the gameplay doesn't have too much depth to it. However, it still does manage to portray a surprisingly good atmosphere, giving you a feel for the post-apocalyptic setting. It's free and it's actually fairly interesting. If that interests you, then you should give Walking Simulator a download. It might be a hidden gem to you.
