Where The Goats Are is a short meditative simulation game where not too much is expected of you except to keep your goats happy, you play as Tikvah an old lady who’s world is falling apart around her while she tries to maintain her simple way of life of making cheese and caring for her goats in the face of this adversity.
The game play is very slow and relaxing as you gradually try to complete each task, dawdling around your home, collecting the chicken eggs and water from the well to keep the plants alive with fantastic art work looks great and the musical score fits perfectly with the overall feel of the game.
Where The Goats Are fits very much in to simulation rather than any kind of action or adventure game, the full game has about an hour of playing time and according to the developer Memory of God it is best to do it all in one sitting although the game does auto save at dawn every morning if you’re not able or don’t have time to complete it in one go.
Overall it was a very nice experience and something very different however it can become a little repetitive at points but it’s definitely worth sticking with until the finish!
