ASP.NET 2013

An open source server side web application framework which is designed for web development to make dynamic web pages, ASP.NET was developed by Microsoft to allow programmers to create dynamic web sites, web applications, and web services. Microsoft provides ASP.NET to make this process just a little bit simpler for web developers.

Having been release back in January of 2002 with version 1.0 of the .NET Framework, ASP.NET is built on the Common Language Runtime (CLR) which allows programmer to make ASP.NET code with any supported .NET language. 

The software is in the process of be re implemented. The new framework is supposed to make use of the new open source .NET Compiler Platform and be cross platform. 

The web pages created by ASP.NET, which are known as Web Forms, are the back bone to application development. These web forms are in files with the .ASPX format, and these files usually have static xHTML markup, as well as server side web controls and user controls where the developers can place all of the rc content for the web page. 

ASP.NET has a strong history and has been around for quite a while giving a helping hand to developers in developed interactive and dynamic web pages which continue to make the Internet a more exciting, interactive environment.
