Low-budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to dazzle the audience with beautiful graphics, they instead need to focus on something else to stand out. These restrictions can lead to some very creative premises. Let's look at Blood Rite of the Dice King.

To install Blood Rite of the Dice King, simply unzip the files inside the archive into any folder you want.

There's not really a story. You start off as a person who is given two choices - either play a game of life or death or don't. However, choosing not to will instantly kill you, so you don't actually have a choice. After accepting and stepping on a platform, you're quickly forced into a small cube.

You need to complete the pentagram on the floor by rolling three 6s. However, if you do it too early, you will die from unavoidable spikes. You need to first complete the five stars of the pentagram by rolling the correct number with your dice. Every time you roll, however, spikes that correspond to what you rolled will shoot out of the walls. If you don't dodge them, you'll die and have to start over from the beginning.

It's a simple system that is incredibly tense, but if you hit an unlucky streak, the game drags on for a little too long and you'll get bored as it's a pretty shallow system.

All in all, Blood Rite of the Dice King is an incredibly unique game that everybody should check out.
