DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything. From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods and maps that can all do different things. There are also maps that do a great job being creepy. One of them is dead.wire.
To install dead.wire, you need to have ZDoom and move the WAD file into the GZDoom folder, which is pretty par for the course for DOOM maps.
The setup is incredibly unique. You are an engineer working for the UAC, and they get a strange signal one day from an abandoned facility. They send you to investigate, and you find a phantom, which isn't too outside the norm. Then you turn the power on and reality starts breaking.
This map's atmosphere is incredibly creepy. The ambient soundtrack, custom textures, and the metric ton of static all help you feel uneasy. As you play through this map, reality will constantly transform, and entire areas will blink into existence from the void of static.
The game is very light on jumpscares. Instead, they're creepy by going in the other direction. Every enemy you face will be completely silent, which is just as, if not more creepy. Overall, if you're a fan of creative DOOM maps, you should definitely give dead.wire a shot. Just the atmosphere alone is a masterclass in design.
