DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything. From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods and maps that can all do different things. One of the many is EA Gothic.
To install EA Gothic, you need to have ZDoom and move the WAD file into the GZDoom folder, which is pretty par for the course for DOOM maps.
The standout feature of this map is how cramped, short, and tough it is. Most of the difficulty in the map revolves around the fact that you have to play around cramped spaces and tight ammo balances. The most purely challenging part of this game is having to manage your AoE attacks to take out groups of enemies while also not damaging yourself with the AoE. If enemy density is a problem, then there are lower difficulty settings available to help take the pressure off of your ammo.
The look of this map is incredibly solid. The finale strikes out in particular with you challenging two arch-viles in a fire covered mausoleum. If you're a fan of DOOM maps but don't have a lot of time to play them, then you should definitely give EA Gothic a quick look-see. It's not a particularly long map, but its dense enemies and unique challenges will definitely keep you entertained the whole way through.
