For starters, the above application, GTA 3 Multiplayer Patch, is extremely buggy and may or may not work for your game. There are several varying reports in online forums of the patch working for some and not working for others. If it does work, however, you're golden.
At its initial launch, Grand Theft Auto 3 did not have a multiplayer mode for players to play. The PC gaming community was furious with Rockstar as the game was rumored to have a multiplayer mode for the PC version of the game. While it is obvious that the anger of the PC gaming community was completely misdirected at Rockstar rather than the rumor mill, there was no stopping it. Since they couldn't get what they wanted officially, out of the PC gaming community comes the GTA 3 Multiplayer Patch.
The patch allows for one other person to play in GTA3 with you. The patch is extremely buggy and is only for the riskiest of gamers.
