Maxthon is an alternative web browser that starting from the 4th version changes its name to Maxthon Cloud Browser thanks to its cloud orientation and its services. In fact, right-click mouse menu gives us an option to save in the cloud any web page, browser tab or downloaded file and synchronize it automatically with all the computers that have Maxthon installed, including tablets and mobile devices, as it is available on both Android and iOS. For using these cloud services it is needed to get registered on the Maxthon web page for creating a Maxthon Passport account, which includes a 10 GB free online storage.

It has 2 rendering engines, Trident, which are used by Internet Explorer by Microsoft and Webkit, used by Apple’s Safari and Google’s Chrome, what lets us get a higher download speed of web pages being used simultaneously on each component. Together with the Web engine it has an integrated downloads manager which accelerates the downloads and sorts them in a much more simple way.

Other interesting feature is the synchronization of bookmarks and favourites. During the installation process it will capture all the favourites that we have in our browser by default and it will add them in the same structure to the favs bar, folders and so on. It also includes external applications for being able to start them from the same browser, converting the web browser into a common centre of computer, which is something similar to what Google wants to do with Chrome OS, but without all of its limitations.

The design of the latest versions of Maxthon Cloud Browser is even more simplified, giving us a much cleaner and easier interface with all the important elements easily accessible. We can put the sidebar on the desktop for having everything handy and with all the accesses with no need of opening the browser first.
