Medieval: Total War 1.0

A turn based strategy and real time tactic computer video game that was developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Activision, Medieval Total War is set in the middle ages and is the second game of the Total War series which follows the 2000 title Shogun: Total War. The game was release in North America on August 20, 2002. 

Medieval: Total War is a magnificent real-time strategy game with a new and complete 3D engine that lets you control 10,000 different types of troops and 100 unique units with in the game. The players will be able to use their tactics and strategies for taking castles by using rams, archers, and a heavy cavalry. The game is based on building an empire across medieval Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. It focuses on the warfare, politics, and religion of the time the game takes place and ultimately leads the player in conquest of the known world. 

The strategy part of the game divides the campaign map among twenty factions from the period in the game with a total of twelve being playable. The extent of the major faction's territory and the factions available depends on the starting time of the game. There different times you can choose from, and these are "Early" (1087), "High" (1205), and "Late" (1321). These reflect the historical state of the factions for that specific game over time. 

The factions represent many of the major world nations of the time period, and include the Byzantine Empire, France, England, the Holy Roman Empire, and the Ottoman Empire. There are also several factions, including the Golden Horde, which emerge over time during the course of the game play. These factions are not available to be chosen by the player in the game and are only those to play against. 

Apart from getting a complete war experience, the player can create alliances with other kingdoms, create commerce routes, and new technologies, navy power, and train soldiers and generals.

You will be able to appreciate a complete strategy game which offers a great variety of possibilities. Not only will the strategy level that you have influence the combat, but also how you organize your kingdom and how you manage your  "business". Both aspects will be crucial in the outcome of who is the best king.
