Minecraft has a ton of things to do. Hunt monsters, build farms, explore alternate dimensions, trade with the nearby villagers...and then there is, of course, mining. The repetitive task of looking at a stone block and holding down left click, praying that some ore will be right behind it, is more often than not a simple means to an end. However, many find it a calming exercise and do find it the most compelling part of the game. There is now a clicker game based on that entire concept, called PickCrafter.
Note that Pickcrafter is only available on Steam, so when you have that installed, click on this link to install it.
The game is basically Cookie Clicker with a few twists. You start with a simple wooden pickaxe and mining dirt. After you gather a certain amount of dirt, you'll be able to craft basic cloth boots, which will upgrade your mining speed. Minecraft fans will probably bristle at how unfaithful it is to the basic crafting system of the game, but you'll have to work past it. As you upgrade your gear, you'll dig deeper and find treasure chests and the occasional mob. That's practically it - it's an idle game based on Minecraft.
All things considered, Pickcrafter is unlikely to be your new favorite game. It's pretty straightforward and very much like Cookie Clicker with a couple of twists. However, if you need something to do in the background to fill some empty time, then you should give this game a download!
