Back in 2012, modding Halo was extremely popular. There were plenty of fan campaigns created, but these were mostly using already existing levels in the game and had rudimentary cutscenes with no dialogue. There weren't any truly expansive mods out there until Project Lumoria came along, and it featured original levels, cutscenes, and voice acting. This was truly an attempt by fans to create their own Halo game.
To install Project Lumoria, simply extract the contents of the archive and place them in the maps directory of the Halo: CE folder.
The biggest feature this campaign brings is that...well, it's a proper campaign. It opens up with a text crawl that sets up the setting of the story, and it has proper characters and stakes along the way. The maps are structured much like Halo 2 - linear, but with enough hints of openness that you never feel railroaded. There are also a couple of areas that have the grandeur of Halo 3 - an impressive display for the Halo 1 engine.
However, there are a couple of very noticeable shortcomings, most of which can be respected if you keep in mind that it's a mod. The voice acting and writing are relatively poor, with the pacing of the writing going all over the place and the voice acting varying massively in quality, with some lows being insanely low.
All in all, however, Project Lumoria is worth giving a shot as a Halo fan. If you can look past its incredibly clunky execution, you'll have a good time.
