Vanilla Skyrim has a variety of issues. Most would agree that the passage of time has not been kind to it, with a ton of people rightfully pointing out a ton of issues with it. Luckily, Skyrim has one of the largest modding scenes around and a ton of creators have dedicated themselves to fixing the game's many issues. One of them is Skyrim 2020 Parallax, a mod that aims to give the textures some depth that the base game didn't have.

To install Skyrim 2020 Parallax, drag it into the Skyrim Data folder, as well as using LOOT to determine the optimal load order so you don't crash your game constantly, much like most Skyrim mods.

Like the mod itself says, it will add the Parallax effect to most of Skyrim's textures. This mod holds a whopping 1300 files in it, with 2000 files planned by the end of the year. That makes it the most comprehensive Parallax mod to date.

It is worth noting that this mod will hit your game's performance very hard, as Parallax is a very taxing effect to apply to an open world game, especially one that wasn't built with it in mind in the first place. I counted a 15 FPS drop, and that's on top of all the performance hits I took with all the other mods.

All in all, if you have a powerful computer, then you should definitely give Skyrim 2020 Parallax a download. It may be very difficult to run, but it's one of the best looking mods around.
