Under The Snow 1.5.0

Under The Snow is a kind of horror explorer game you went to a solitary log cabin for a bit of a break from the wife and kids and now you're trapped there also inhabiting your area are some kind of monsters, the first thing I will point out is at the time of writing it is still very much in development and I'll be honest it needs to be.

I love a good jump scare game so I was excited for this, but it seems as if there is a lot yet to be added to the Under The Snow, I played for a good while myself and could not even complete the first objective, having researched some videos and reviews I'm not the only person with this problem.

The song that plays is taken from the soundtrack of another game and the design work could be much more detailed, for example the log cabin where you begin the game has some pictures and letters but on close inspection they are just a blur.

Also the footsteps sounds as you walk in the cabin sound far too heavy, I understand you would probably be wearing heavy boots but each footstep is followed by a strange crunching sound that I found quite unpleasant.

You are given a map but not any idea as to where you are on it and where the car keys you must find may perhaps be, I assumed they were probably still in the log cabin but was not able to re-enter once I had exited the log cabin.

I wish Under The Snow was a little more linear and easier to get started with as I did like the monsters and when the first one caught me I did jump a little, but not really knowing what your mission or direction is can be some what frustrating, I hope there is some good updates in the future as this game shows promise but it needs a lot of work but at least it's free!
