Sandbox MMOs are a risky proposition, especially now that the general public has gotten used to the theme park style MMOs that World of Warcraft popularized. Most players would feel lost and confused on how to proceed in a truly sandbox experience. However, the sandbox MMOs that do it right were some of the most memorable experiences of their time, and Therion Online does its best to recreate that.
To install Therion Online, simply run the executable and you're good to go.
To emphasize the sandbox nature of this game, you'll find that there are absolutely no classes and that this game actually reminds one a lot of Runescape. Your role is determined by your role and players are encouraged experimenting around. In the game's own words, you are what you wear.
This game also stands out by letting players build cities. You can build a house if you're just a solo player, but if you join a guild, you can all build cities and villages and battle other guilds over in-game territory.
The economy is also totally player driven. All items and buildings are crafted by players, and you can even cash in on some products by creating your own farms! Lastly, this game has true cross-platform support, which means that you will likely never run out of players to play against.
Overall, Therion Online does a lot that's interesting. The only downsides are the outdated interface and how premium currency ruins the balance a little, as well as the PvP zones getting overcrowded, making it hard for new players to get going. If you can look past all that, you should definitely give this a download.
