Blade and Soul DIVINE BREAK

The formula for MMORPGs that World of Warcraft has established has permeated the scene, to the point where it's overflowing and relatively stagnant. Very few MMORPGs have tried to mix it up, with many sharing a very similar combat system and gameplay loop as WoW. However, there are a few MMOs out there that try to mix up some part of it. Blade and Soul has gone with overhauling the combat.

To install Blade and Soul, simply install the NCSOFT launcher and choose to install the game from there.

The biggest difference this game brings to the formula is the combat. There's honestly little reason to play this game for any other reason. Skills are bound to a ton of buttons. 1-4, Z-V, and the mouse buttons are all keyed to different skills. Your hand is isolated on the left side of the keyboard as a result, and it controls all movement and most of the skills. You can chain skills properly to trigger new skills that can be employed at correct times to maximize damage. Knowing when to parry and when to evade is intoxicating to master.

However, the rest of it is a typical Korean MMORPG. It is very grind heavy with incredibly repetitive quests and the zones are based so heavily around a theme that it gets boring to explore in a bit. 

If the combat doesn't appeal to you, then Blade and Soul likely isn't for you. Otherwise, however, there are some fantastic moments to be found in group combat.
