MOBAs, at the start, were pretty diverse. Before DoTA defined what it is exactly, there were also a ton of other mods that featured the same concept but executed in different ways. For example, Starcraft 2 had Desert Strike, a game mode where all you decide on is which units you'll spawn to march towards the enemy bases and your economy. You don't control your units at all. But what if that concept was taken further? You'd get Art of War: Red Tides.
To install Art of War: Red Tides, make sure you have Steam installed. Once that's done, just head on over to this link to install it.
Much like Desert Strike, you only have to manage the units you send and your resource production. To send units, you need to spend resources on them, a resource that will very slowly replenish itself over time. However, you can also opt to spend resources to upgrade your resource production - however, this will make the units you send in the short term weaker than your opponent's, to the point where you may lose.
Game knowledge is incredibly important. You have to know which units counter what and have the ability to analyze your opponent's army. For example, wolves are fast, cheap, and packs a punch for their cost, but get hard countered by flamethrowers, who in turn get countered by other units. The trick to winning is knowing how to counter your opponent.
Overall, Art of War: Red Tides is fun and rewards skill. If that interests you, definitely give it a download.
