Battlerite Arena 2.2

One of the reasons MOBAs are so exclusive is because the learning curve is so long. There are usually dozens, if not hundreds of characters to learn, all with their own counters, and a ton of little microscopic interactions that have a ton of long term ramifications that most of the player base aren't aware of to this day. These things can be exhausting to learn. Battlerite Arena seeks to take away those problems by presenting a fast-paced, round-based, player skill reliant game.

The thing that sets this game apart is that it only has a few maps, and all of them are very compact. It's easy to pick up everything that the map has to offer within a few games. Every champion is also viable, and while there will inevitably be counters in the pursuit of uniqueness, it isn't as egregious as some examples from Dota or League of Legends. This is in due part to the auto attack system - you have to aim your auto attacks, which automatically gives counterplay. Melee characters can dodge ranged character's auto attacks and close the distance with their many gap closers. This makes movement far more impactful than other MOBAs.

Since this is a free to play game, loot boxes are a thing. However, it's just cosmetics, and any gameplay progression is related to playing a certain hero for a while. All in all, Battlerite Arena is an easy recommendation from me.
