Flash games were like the wild west. During the time they were around, modern game design in and of itself wasn't fully fleshed out. Sure, there were a couple of soft rules, but experimentation was everywhere.  Flash games were and are the most experimental games you can play around as they don't really care what's "right" and what's "wrong". Some of the most unique games out there started out as flash games. Creeper World 2: Academy innovates on a formula in a bold way that many franchises wouldn't try to do.

To install Creeper World 2: Academy, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.

The first thing you'll notice is that it is no longer a top down game - it is now a side view game. The game is now fully based around height, and many missions will have you delving deep into the ground to kill all the creep.

You have to excavate territory out now. You can only plant reactors and energy generation on level ground and mine ore around the map. You also now have access to Anti-Creeper makers, friendly goo that will mutually destroy any creep it comes into contact with. There is very little more satisfying than replacing the entire map with your own, friendly goo.

All in all, Creeper World 2: Academy is definitely one of the more interesting gameplay shifts that most franchises go through. It doesn't stick because the shift wasn't popular, but the game still plays well and deserves kudos for the change.
