The antivirus and firewall market is exceedingly saturated with so many programs offering and doing the same thing. They all handle the basics. They protect you from most threats including malware, spyware, adware etc or they block incoming and outgoing connections that they determine to be suspicious. But what about a program that handles "both sides of the quarter?" There aren't many of those that can do it and do it well. That is where Comodo Firewall comes into play.
Comodo Firewall not only helps you determine what incoming and outgoing connections are safe and should be trusted, but it also handles the antivirus side as well. It is one of the few programs that do this well. Right off the bat, after the install, you can see Comodo Firewall at work. It assesses your current internet connection to ensure that you are sure of your current connection, to ensure that it is secure, and that there are no unidentified proxies involved.
It also informs you that you need to restart your system. This is more than the standard restart that you are accustomed to programs requesting of you. After you restart your computer, Comodo Firewall assesses all of the running tasks from start up and allows you to determine which programs should be trusted, so that you have absolute control of what's happening behind the scenes with your PC. This can work wonders on the speed of your computer. Especially once you see all of the unnecessary programs and meaningless services that run when you start your computer.
