Most modern browsers actually aren't as secure as they could be, and that's a giant risk whenever you use one of them. You probably don't know about it, but your browsers are supposed to do a ton of work in the background to protect you. Every time there isn't a popup telling you that its quarantined something, it's probably already done a dozen things silently to fend off other security attacks. While the mainstream browsers do it fine, there are others that do an even better job, like Comodo Icedragon.
Unlike its big brother Comodo Dragon, Comodo Icedragon is based on Mozilla Firefox rather than Google Chrome. Just like its big brother, though, it takes the browser core and upgrades it, providing a ton of security enhancements and performance enhancements to the core experience. For example, it improves social media integration, loads quicker, and scans each page for malware directly from the browser. It's also compatible with all Firefox plug-ins and automatically imports them on the first bootup.
Its installation is surprisingly annoying, though. It automatically inserts itself into your toolbar and tries to install a bunch of antivirus browser software, which also prompts you to uninstall all other security add ons to "eliminate incompatibility". There wasn't an option to not install it, and it does it automatically after you boot the program up. That was annoying, but I deleted it afterward and my normal plugin worked fine with it. If this sounds like a browser you need, then I recommend you give Comodo Icedragon a download!
