Drivers are an important part of your computer. While Windows and most other OSes will keep the most critical ones up to date automatically, there are a ton of drivers that aren't automatically updated. These drivers can cause problems down the road and definitely slow your computer down significantly. For those drivers, you need special software to keep them up to date if you don't want to do them one at a time manually. There are plenty out there, but I'm here to introduce you to Driver Genius.

Driver Genius comes with a bevy of other features that can make it more appealing. It comes built-in with Hardware Monitoring and a Game Booster feature. Hardware monitoring lets you do exactly what it says - it lets you monitor your CPU, GPU, and drives. You can track their temperature and error logs as you go. Game Booster optimizes your PC resources for gaming and automatically returns to normal once you're done playing games.

This program also comes with a backup and restore function, so if your new drivers get corrupted somehow, it's incredibly easy to backup to that point. Obviously, a full system backup is superior in terms of system health, but this is a good alternative.

The bad part is that it doesn't actually let you update drivers in the trial version, only scan. If you want to use it for what it's advertised for, you'll need to actually buy the software. There were also some false positives in my test scans, where it flagged drivers I was sure I had up to date. If you can look past those downsides, though, this is a great software!
