A football (or known as Soccer in North America) video game developed by Electronic Arts that was released back in 2003. FIFA 2004 is the eleventh release of the FIFA series and the eighth that was released in 3D. In this release, there are a few technical improvements from the past and very little graphical improvement which is probably because 2003 was close to a substantial shift in the video game industry with the near release of the new console generation.
The biggest game play improvements within FIFA 2004 were the addition of secondary divisions, which allow the player to take lower ranked teams to promotion attempts in the game. There is also a new feature called "Off the Ball" which allows the player to control two players at the same time to increase the fun within the tactical game play. As well as many other features, another notable addition was Football Fusion, which allows players that own both FIFA 2004 and Total Club Manager 2004 to play game from the management simulation in FIFA.
With more than 500 official licenses, 16 leagues and 10,000 players, there is no doubt that the database is very extensive and immerse. Generally, when FIFA 2004 was originally released back in 2003, the video game reviews for the release were mostly positive given the time the game was released and the fun addition that were added to the game - making it worth the upgrade from FIFA 2003. Many critics in the game industry have always respected Electronic Arts' releases for FIFA and this one is no different with Gamespot claiming that "you'd be crazy not to give it a try" if you are interested in sports and an avid FIFA fan.
