Garena 1.0

Garena is a kind of messaging app, it has a similar appearance and layout to whatsapp or telegram but it's unique selling point is that it's for gamers to bring gamers together so that you can play videogames with existing friends and make new friends to play games with from around the world.
It took me some time to figure out what was happening as the European servers I was automatically logged in to were completely dead.

Eventually I was able to change my settings to one of the more popular servers, however as the most popular servers were also in Asia many of these changed the language to that of the relevant server.

I managed to find a game to download called point blank to see what Garena offered by way of an MMO experience.
However Point Blank did not load, it did on the second attempt but then told me my IP was blocked, this may have been to do with the server I was using and the country of my location being very different so I switched back to a European server, but then the game had totally disappeared again.
I gave it one more try using a still foreign but different server and was requested to install the same game again, the installation of the games is very slow if it does function at all, so after I switched to a different server I was successfully able to install FIFA online 3, and I have to say it looked great and as a free game you can't complain.

The idea for Garena free download is a promising one, but until the servers in western countries have become more populated it can seem a bit lonely.

Garena has the right ideas and I expect will be a cool tool if it reaches the popularity it deserves, if they keep making free content as good as FIFA online 3 available it should do, but it seems there are still a few bugs in the system that need tweaking first.

It is already hugely popular in Asia and I hope that popularity follows on the rest of the world, a global gaming community is a wonderful vision.
