Gunz: The Duel was a fairly average action PvP game back in the early 2000s. However, there was one main reason that quickly propelled it into popularity. It was the amount of glitches and exploits that it had. Much like Smash Bros Melee, these glitches took a high level of skill to carry out, but also added a ton of depth to the game. The sequel, Gunz: The Second Duel, sought to turn these into official game mechanics while also offering a story mode.
To install Gunz: The Second Duel, make sure you have Steam installed then head on over to this link to install the game.
Unfortunately, this game definitely doesn't replace K-Style well. And with that, the game automatically becomes a lot slower paced than its predecessor was, along with lowering the skill ceiling a ton. However, a ton of the same movement mechanics remain otherwise unchanged. You can still wallrun, dash, and walljump so maps can very much be designed in the exact same way.
The game also features a story campaign, which is a fairly bizarre addition if you ask me. It's fairly standard and straightforward, except since the maps are constantly supposed to be pushing you forward to progress the story, the freedom of the more open ended multiplayer maps feel absent. All in all, it's definitely there but it's not exactly gripping.
Gunz: The Second Duel is definitely fairly disappointing coming off the heels of its much more impressive predecessor. If you just want some nice action PvP, then this is still a fine choice.
