Flash games were the precursors to many parts of the gaming industry today. The creativity and willingness to experiment has translated over to the indie games industry, many design elements that are used in AAA games today were first observed in flash games, and the casual nature of many flash games has translated over to the mobile game industry. One formula, top down shooters, really started in flash games. One of them was Decision 2: New City.
To install Decision 2: New City, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This game takes the old formula from the old entries and transplants it into a medieval setting. Of course, while the gameplay loop is practically the same, the very fact that it's in a medieval setting changes things greatly. For example, melee combat is a massive focus now, with projectile weapons moving incredibly slowly and are a lot less reliable.
There is also now a skill tree and they fit it perfectly into the formula. You have to go out and save skill masters to buy new talents from them, making the skill system fit perfectly into the gameplay loop that's been intact since the original.
All in all, Decision 2: New City is more of the same, but a simple change of setting is enough to make it completely unique.
