Adding more functionality to an already amazing application, Malden is essentially a plug in that allows you to see the status of your favorite contacts on Skype in your taskbar, so you don't need to check the application each time you are curious as to whether the people you talk to the most are online. It is important to note that this plug in isn't really made with novice users in mind. It is recommended you have decent knowledge with computers before you proceed and download this.

Get direct access to your contacts' status and chats from the taskbar with Malden. This essentially adds more functionality to Skype and allows you to access your contacts faster, without an open window. You can specify whether the Skype profile you are linking to the taskbar shows their profile picture, the usual Skype status icons without a profile picture, or some other file that can be used as a icon in the taskbar. This can be any available icon you are able to call from the command line of the plug in.

In order for you to get this to work, you must specify a Skype user name in the command line to call the contact information up and show it in the taskbar. Also, you must have Skype installed and running when you open this application, otherwise it is essentially useless. Malden is just a branch off of Skype to increase the functionality of the program to allow you to access your contacts fast and efficiently, and also constantly be aware of their status from your taskbar rather than keeping the Skype window up all of the time.

The user you want to show the status to in your taskbar must already be in your contact list and have given you permission to share information with one another. Otherwise, you will not be able to find the contact or get the status information you need to show in the taskbar.
