Low budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to create an epic, the creators instead need to focus on one unique feature to make their games stick out. From these restrictions come some truly inventive concepts. One of them is MUE, a first person horror game where a woman confronts her fear of aging.
To play MUE, simply run the executable after unzipping it to a folder.
This game takes you through a nightmarish labyrinth that takes you through each phase of this woman's life. There are three main areas, with the first representing her youth, her second representing her motherhood, and the third representing her current old age and all the different ways she tries to stave it off.
As she wanders the halls of this area, she will be chased by a terrifying monster that you can't fight. You have to run from it, shut a door behind you, and pray that the monster will pass you up. This is how horror games make good monsters, in my opinion, because being unable to properly fight a monster really accentuates how terrifying it is. The monster design in this game is also great, with it having an incredibly blurry and vague appearance that makes it difficult to pin down exactly what it's supposed to be.
All in all, if you want to play a game with an incredibly unique premise, then you should give MUE a download.
