Low-budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to dazzle the audience with beautiful graphics, they instead need to focus on something else to stand out. These restrictions can lead to some very creative premises. Let's look at Night Of The X-Mas Trees.

To install Night Of The X-Mas Trees, simply unzip the files inside the archive into any folder you want.

You start the game off as a silent police officer with nothing but a flashlight and a gun, coming to investigate an area called the Christmas Tree Lot in the dead of the night. You come across a note saying that the owner has unleashed a supernatural evil entity in the area and requesting you, an ordinary police officer, help take care of it. And of course, being a protagonist of a horror game, you don't even bother checking in with your superiors before walking right in.

You come across a note across a massive blood pool telling you that you need to remove three protective wreaths around the lot before you can burn the big tree down and end it all. And that's pretty much the entire game. You spend the rest of it walking around and shooting down christmas trees walking at you, solving some simple code puzzles along the way. It's a very standard horror game, which is a little disappointing considering the unique premise/.

All in all, however, Night Of The X-Mas Trees is a unique enough game that everybody should check out.
