SmartCapture 3.14.1

The built-in Windows Snipping tool does its job well, but its actual features are relatively limited. If you find that it isn't covering your needs anymore, you should take a look online for many other powerful alternatives. One of them is SmartCapture, which is a professional screen capture program that comes with support for multiple monitors, hotkeys, image editing functions, scripts, and different capture modes.

The first thing that struck me when I booted SmartCapture up is how clean the interface was. While it didn't exactly look original - it looked pretty much like every other screenshot grabber program - there's still no denying how effective the layout is. 

The giant window in the middle shows you the picture you're working with. You can zoom in and out as much as you want. All the tools are, as you'd expect, in the toolbar. There, you can find a ton of editing tools to help you enhance snapshots or images imported from your own file collection. There's the usual brightness, contrast, gamma, saturation, and hue value edits. You can crop, adjust the color mode like Black&White, Grayscale, or the various bits. You can also apply various effects like dither or invert, highlight parts of the picture, or even just clear out an area and just fill it with color. 

One thing I did find slightly annoying was how it overrode the typical Windows printscreen button, though you can get around that easily by changing SmartCapture's snapshot button in the settings. Other than that, the program worked flawlessly. I can recommend this to anybody who needs a solid snapshot program.
