Without the budget to create an epic, the creators instead need to focus on one unique feature to make their games stick out. From these restrictions come some truly inventive concepts. One of them is Sorry, We're Open, which is a horror game that's also a day shift simulator at an eldritch supermarket. Oh, did we mention that there are a bunch of roguelite elements?

This game is incredibly strange. During the day, you work at the customer service counter in shifts, where you'll encounter randomized events, recruit staff, and fight enemies in typical JRPG style battles. After your shift's done, you can hang around the staff area and chat to the cast or snoop around the supermarket to discover some creepy secrets.

The game's replayability comes from the sheer amount of randomly generated events there are. There are a ton of roguelite elements and there is also a real sense of progression as you explore the supermarket, which is the main narrative progression you'll get from this game. The randomized party you can recruit can also give rise to some very interesting synergies between the party members, which gives battles a fun tactical depth.
