Text editors can often serve as a code editor as well, though often far inferior to dedicated coding programs. Nonetheless, programmers oftentimes use text editors to write their code. So long as it has some features related to coding, it can be used. Notepad++ is one of the many options out there, due to its similarity to the default Notepad and with the complex features, you can install on it. SynWrite tries to bridge the gap by having some of the features built-in instead of requiring people to install it themselves while similarly still having the ability to install more features via plugins should you please.
Unlike Notepad++, Synwrite has syntax highlighting, advanced search functions, macro recording and playback, along with HTML cleanup utilies built in by default. The interface is also more remniscent of typical code editors than Notepad++ is. It's split into multiple panes for writing code or navigating a tree view with all the start and end tags that you can use to simply jump to their position in the code.
You can also use a project explorer for all resource files involved, navigate multiple tabs, explore disk directories to locate any files, and connect to an FTP account to directly upload files to a website. This list of features already surpasses Notepad++, so if you're collaborating with a team, this is the better choice for you. If this program sounds like something that could be useful to you, then I highly suggest you give Synwrite a download!
