The health of your computer is absolutely critical. If your computer suddenly crashes, you can lose dozens of hours of work with almost no warning. Thankfully, there are usually telltale signs when your computer is having issues, mostly through your CPU and memory usage. There are a ton of different programs that help you monitor your system's health, and one of them is System Monitor II.

Installing System Monitor II can be more of a hassle than usual. You need another program to install .gadget files, like 8Gadgets. Once you do that, it will appear in a small widget that you can move wherever you want on the desktop. This program will show you a ton of different statistics like memory usage, free and total amount of memory with detailed statistics shown right there in the main window.

What's more impressive is that the configuration screen has a ton of different options for a Windows gadget. It lets you customize the interface like colors, background and graph details, it also lets you specify the CPU you want to monitor, the refresh rate, the core temperatures, and the memory options.

Graphs can also be configured, with multiple built-in options so you may have to spend a while setting up the appearance and other features. Thankfully, because its a widget, it also takes almost no resources to run. All in all, System Monitor II is a great program that helps you monitor a ton of things that you wouldn't be able to normally.
