Wordslide 1.0

Wordslide is a combination of a skateboarding game and a spelling challenge, as part of the Game Jam of fitting two games together that shouldn’t go together this is actually a very clever fusion of games as it’s both educational and fun.

The skateboard however is rider-less and also seems to hover (there are no visible wheels) but once you get used to controlling it using the mouse and keyboard it can have a nice flow and becomes quite fun and easy especially doing kickflips and ollies over the many obstacles within the skate park, however in the skate park there is also a lot of letters that can be collected and if you can make them in to words you will get points for them, however it took us a while to work out that you have to collect the letters in the order of the word for it to count, so anagrams will not get you points.

It’s a very unique idea for a game and the skateboarding part we very much enjoyed however it does feel a bit like the kind of game you might play on a school computer to improve your spelling, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad game and if you like skateboarding and improving your language skills you can’t really go wrong!.
