Armed to the Gears 0.1.0

Armed to the Gears is a futuristic strategy and combat game which is highly addictive and heaps of fun, it was very hard to put the game down to actually write the review.

The graphics we couldn’t really put in the class of outstanding but they do their job perfectly and certainly don’t look bad but what really makes the game interesting is the strategy element because you are able to build static guns and position them, at first you will need them near to you generator thing (I can’t remember if it was generator or reactor or something else totally but it’s basically the thing you need to recharge your energy when you have been shot too many times, these let’s call them generators (just checked they are reactors oops) can also be obtained from the other teams if you can stand on it long enough without them killing you it will change color and become a reactor that belongs to you meaning you can then use it every time you get low on health to go back and top up. The main objective is to capture the other team’s reactors and make them all yours however this can prove quite a challenge as you are just one robot against many however it’s a lot of fun shooting your way through enemies and planning tactically where is the best place to place your static guns which are limited at least for periods of time and can be taken down by your foes so you must try to put them in the places that will help protect your reactors but also help you move forward to attack the next reactor and it’s protectors.

Although there is only two levels available in the current version of the game (Armed to the Gears is still in the prototype stage)  they are both a whole lot of fun and provides enough of a challenge to keep you interested for quite some time. It certainly doesn’t play or look like a free time so compliments must go to the developer for making something so highly polished and releasing it absolutely free of charge.
