Most MMORPGs out there rely on repetition to keep you engaged. You have to log in every day to get your daily rewards, constantly run and rerun dungeons to farm for gear or currency, and raid for endgame equipment. Unfortunately, if the gameplay isn't fun enough, then this cycle can grow incredibly tedious after a while. Luckily, Bit Heroes manages to dodge that trap.

To install Bit Heroes, you need to have Steam installed. Once that's done, go to this link to install it.

You'll notice that this is, first and foremost, a 2D dungeon crawler. You'll get to work with other people or compete with them. However, this isn't World of Warcraft - you're still on your own most of the time. The multiplayer part only comes into play every now and again, and only if you want to leave the grind behind for a moment.

The underlying formula is simple, yet effective - it plays into gamer's love of loot. The dungeons are mazes that are filled with monsters and treasure, which you have to clear to get better items. The monsters scale with your level, making it harder and harder to clear them out. Luckily their loot scales with you.

The multiplayer has its own charm, with both co-op and competitive modes. Despite its simplicity, Bit Heroes manages to engage because of its loot and crafting systems. Overall, if you want to have some fun with an MMORPG which is a lot different from others. Take a look if you want!
