With Google Earth, you have all of the awesome features that you get when you use Google Maps, but not only do you have direct access from your desktop, but you get a lot more features that come along with it. You can map out your next vacation, your day's travel, finding information of places you would like to explore on your next trip, or simply use the map tools like you would at Google Maps. 

Google Earth allows you to map out your trips while also learning new things about the places you would like to see. You can map out a "tour" with a step by step process of how what you would like to visit or see on your next trip, or you can use this feature for a project you are doing for work or school. Using the Tour feature is like making a presentation of the places you would like to see or the places you would like to teach others about.

In recent years, Google has been working on Google Earth to make sure you get a realistic experiencing when using their software.
