Anyone who's played Witcher 3 is at least aware of the card game Gwent - I have personally sunk dozens of hours beating the best of the best and completing my collection. It was an incredibly engaging minigame, filled with strategy as well as luck, just as the best kind of card game. That's why I was so delighted to hear that Gwent would be getting its own official online spinoff - Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is only available on GOG Galaxy. The installation process is short and to the point.
Anybody who's played Gwent in the Witcher 3 will notice a few changes they made to streamline the formula. Most notably, they've removed one of the lanes, leaving only two - the front and back lane. That means that there's no real siege lane anymore, leaving the game design and balancing focused around those two lanes.
That doesn't mean there's less strategy, far from it. You still need to play your cards optimally every single round to get the maximum point value. Failing that, you still need to recognize when you're not going to win, and force the opponent to play as many of their strongest cards as possible while conserving your own to make a comeback the next round.
Each faction plays incredibly differently as well. The Monsters faction focuses around rushing them down with an overwhelming amount of forces, while the Nilfgaardian Empire focus more on a balanced approach. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is a fantastic free spinoff and I couldn't recommend it more.
